Ecoblogs - English » Supporter

ECO MAPFRE is the environmental program of the MAPFRE Foundation destined to the creation and implantation of initiatives that preserve the environment.

As soon as it was created, this program promoted the review of all intern business processes in order to make them ecoefficient. Since 2007, for example, all policies sent out by the Insurance company, now use recycled paper.

To the environment, the positive impact of the utilization of recycled paper, is considerable. In order to produce a ton of paper, from wood, 100.000 liters of water are spent, while, the production from recycled paper, just 2000 liters are consumed.

Beyond the development of planned socioenvironmental responsibility actions, the MAPFRE Foundation supports other initiatives that encourage the discussion and dissemination of information on the subject. A good example of this is the collaboration with the implantation of the EcoBlogs Network, that gather participants that share or have the interest in dividing experiences about ecology, recycling, preservation, conscious consumption, clean technology, organic diet and other subjects related.

The MAPFRE Foundation believes that those initiatives have great role in this mission of giving incentive to the culture of preservation and sustainability, gathering people and entities around this cause.
